A weekend in the Panhandle.
The weekend after the Florida Folk Festival, we’ll be heading back north again for a four day mini-tour weekend in the Panhandle.
On Thursday, May 29th, we’ll be at Topsail Hill State Park as part of the “Americana Under the Stars” concert series. The show starts at 7pm. They have an open mic that starts at 6pm. This is part of a fantastic concert series organized by Mike and Maggie McKinney of Lucky Mud (great musicians, songwriters, and mainstays of the Florida folk scene– so be sure to check out their web site).

On Friday evening, we’ll be at Amavida Coffee in historic St. Andrews, on the waterfront in Panama City, starting at 7:00pm.
On Saturday, we have two shows. In the afternoon, from 1:00 to 4:00, we’ll be at Little Village in Panama City– a fun little shopping and entertainment venue in historic St Andrews.
That night, we’ll be at the Mockingbird Cafe in Tallahassee. Our Tallahassee friends, Belmont & Jones, will be joining us for an evening of music. And if you’ve never seen Belmont & Jones, then you definitely need to check their busy calendar and find them. One reviewer really captured it: “Belmont and Jones perform the pre-electric blues songbook with the integrity, frankness, brilliance, and humor with which it was performed by the great musicians who wrote and sang it.” We love them and always make a point of going by to see them when they play in our town. It’ll be a fun double bill!
UPDATE: Sadly, the Mockingbird has decided that it will be necessary for them to close for the summer, as of May 25. The good news is that they are planning to re-open in the fall in a brand new location, much improved. The bad news is that our show with Belmont & Jones has been cancelled. We will still be at Little Village in the afternoon, however.
On Sunday, June 1st, we’ll be at the Americana Cafe at historic Roberts Hall.
The show starts at 4:00pm (open mic 3pm). We’re excited about playing in this space– nothing like the acoustics of historic wooden structures.
